Soon, the results of all of this rain will be apparent in the green grass, blooming trees and grapevines at the largest family owned estate winery in North Carolina, Shelton Vineyards. That’s the home of “The Gathering” in Dobson, NC on Sat., April 13th!

Our friends at the Triumph Club of the Carolinas are inviting us to the 34rd anniversary of this fun event which includes beautiful British cars, great fellowship, and tasty wine at this gorgeous setting! This year the featured marque is the Morris. (Marilyn and I will certainly enjoy bringing our ’57 Morris Minor Traveler “Woody”!)

For you new club members, we highly encourage you to join us, as our club gathers around our cars and shares a picnic lunch on the grass. Even if you don’t have a Healey, bring a chair or just walk through the many rows of well over a hundred cars representing more than a dozen British marques lined up on the rolling hills at Shelton’s. This is a “Participants Choice Car Show”, so you get to vote on your favorites. In addition to the car show, there are winery tours and tastings, “Wrench Wracing” and meeting old and new friends. Please see the brochure at the Triumph Club of the Carolinas web site ( Sign up by March 15th for some savings.

That Saturday morning, we will meet at Denny’s in Mooresville for breakfast. Take I-77 North to Exit 36, then go East (right turn) and you will see Denny’s on the North (left) side, just a little way down the road, in front of Belk’s, Big Lots, and Kohl’s. Please join us about 8:00, and we will leave for Shelton’s Vineyard at 9:00, which is at exit 93, about 1 ½ hours away.  See you there!!
