Another great adventure is in store for those interested in attending this event. Unfortunately, unless you have already secured your room at the host hotel, they are sold out. But, we have alternative rooms available.
As discussed, we thought combining a couple of scenic drives AND this event would be a great opportunity for our members. Here is the plan:
Thursday, September 12, meet at 9:00am at Ingles Grocery on west Hwy 74 & Hwy 225N, Shelby, NC to depart for Gorges State Park, Sapphire, NC in southwestern NC. We plan to hike to several waterfalls, eat our “take-a-long” lunch and then continue along the “Waterfall Byway” featuring about 200 waterfalls. We will travel about 40 miles on this byway and arrive at Franklin, NC and secure our room (approximately $125) @ the Hampton Inn, Franklin @ 244 Cunningham Rd., Franklin, NC 28734 – 828-369 0600. Dinner in Franklin.
Friday, September 13, have breakfast at the Hampton Inn and depart @ 9:00am for “Tail of the Dragon” drive on Hwy #129, a twisting, scenic drive to the Tennessee border. Check out these links.

Upon completion, we will make our way down to Dillard and the car festival. For those that have not secured a room at Dillard House, we recommend obtaining a room at the Wyndham Days Inn @ 54 Highway & 441N, Clayton, GA, 30525 – 706-801 4051 (approximately $90).

We encourage you to do this soon as many events are already sold out. The low country boil on Friday night and Saturday night awards banquet are still available. The car show begins @ 9:00am on Saturday and ends at 2:00pm.
